It turns out that watching shows with lots of beautiful pan shots of deserts and mountains, explosions, giant robots fighting each other, and pilots angsting over their lives is a good way to pass the time while you sort and organize your collection of 9+ years of OWCP injury files. And playing shows with tons of potty humor and generally inappropriate content can help distract your mind from the rage as you figure out what to scan/bring when you visit the doctor one last time in an attempt to get a code added to your file. Maybe I should have looked for something with more explosions because my jaw is killing me from when I must have been clenching my teeth while taking notes and marking things with sticky papers.
By this time next year, for better or for worse, pray that this fight is all over. I don't want to deal with another year of this, even if it means the OWCP wins their game of trying to make injured workers give up on ever getting any real help and justice. Just crush all my hope to atomic base components once and for all if it means I can be done with all this. As I've mentioned before, hope springing eternal gets more head injuries from low ceilings than docile despair.
Miles once said, "I'm tired
of playing wall." Me too, boy.
Me, too.

Revenge of the bibliophile!
It is done! I have finished organizing my little off-site library with the help of a most excellent and flexible friend who does indeed have upper body strength as a result of having a not-quite-two-year-old child. Babies, boxes, she can lift them all!
Yeah, it makes me a bit giddy. All scanned in and alphabetized and content in their little home where their dust can't make my lungs work any harder. It's a nice feeling.
Of course, I had to miss another group event I was really looking forward to, and I will be paying for the strain I put on my arms for days, but I was already bottoming out in the pain spiral, and it feels nice to finish something. Very nice.
Now on to the next thing.

More cleaning
Soon my cave will be clean and functional once again. I have 6 fewer bookshelves in my 385 square foot palace, which should reduce book dust and dampen my allergies. I'm just filing away and tidying up the last bits. I have an attack plan for the final day, which involves going to a laundry place that is apparently out of this world to wash my comforter for the first time in . . . too long and some other tasks that will allow me to have completely open floor space and a clean couch.
I have decided the kitchen and bathroom will be separate projects for later in the week, so I can feel a sense of accomplishment about completing this 47 step project.
Today, I left the cave only to exercise, do laundry, and bask in the sun while reading a nicely creepy book. If cleaning is good for the soul, I think my soul will be healthier after this week.
What are your thoughts on cleaning/rearranging?

Cleaning Monster Attacks
I'm going to do it today: I'll find some place to ditch all my OWCP nightmare stuff and rearrange, so that my desk is a more comfortable place.
That was my goal for the day, and I refused to stop until it was done. Unfortunately, this meant I totally forgot to go see a free coffee shop performance by two people I was dying to hear. Sigh. I win and lose!
So much space! So much less heat! The freedom of organization is so intoxicating! I'm on a rampage. Next, I want to get my coffee table cleaned/organized. I wonder if my overhead shelves will collapse under the weight of all those thesis drafts . . . Let's find out; shall we?
Is there anything in your house or office you really want to get cleaned?

The cost of re-alphabetizing
Silly me; I forgot what happens when I re-alphabetize my books. Pain. Wow. It's kind of stunning. Day two of no sleep. Hmm. Not good.
Still worth it? I guess, so long as I don't get sick again.
Our concert is coming up in a little over a week. My small group may not pull it together in time, which makes me sad, but we have a couple of days to try to make it work, so I haven't given up yet! Onward . . .
